Nigerian's 11th year of uninterrupted democracy rule

Today is the 29th of may,the day we celebrate the return of democracy to Nigeria and this year is special cos its the 11th year and our young democracy is still on,growing slowly but with the zeal and will to grow,i think she has some ailments cos she's taking so slow to grow but don't misquote me she is growing.... amidst poverty amidst poor governance,amidst more than 521 different languages,Afeniferes,MEND,MOSOP,MASSOB,Boko Harams,OPC boys Bakassi Boys,amidst so many sects and groups,she still stays afloat,defying them all and daring them to do their worst!
She is here to stay, she is here to damn all them non african leaders and some as well saying we should divide along religious lines or among ethic lines.Na Lie!Urhobo soldier go everly climb up to kafanchan go see one hot yarinya for there marry am sharp sharp!,egbira woman go everly come down to rumukurushi to come sell fish see one hot looking ikwerre bobo tanda there. Na Lie!! we no go break or scatter. Our uniqueness is in our diversity, in our ability to travel 10,11,12,20 to 24 hours away from home{try travelling from Yenegoa to Maiduguri} and still feel welcome and loved in that little town far away from home and start a trade comfortably.That's our uniqueness.
So in my own little way I celebrate with my country today....by pledging to be faithful,loyal and honest,to serve her with all my strength, to defend her unity,and uphold her honor and glory...so help me God.{just rephrased our National pledge! lol!!}
Happy democracy Day Naija...

Naija!!! da hustle continues.....

Timaya and Bayelsa State.

Gist around town has it that if not for egberi-papa1 himself,Timaya repping the state,Bayelsa State wouldn't have been widely known in Nigeria. True????
Well for me that is a big LIE!!! maybe for the uneducated yes but to say that timaya is the major reason bayelsa came into limelight in Nigeria is a big LIE.
and na for public transport naim dis gist dey happen so.Me i just kept quiet and listened to all their ramblings because if i had opened my mouth in that bus,na another thing for happen.
First of,Bayelsa state was created out of Rivers state by the late President Sanni Abacha in 1996. It was created at the same time as was Ekiti, Ebonyi, Gombe, Nassarawa and Zamfara States.The name itself is an acronym of Brass,YEnagoa and SAgbama local government areas,and its headquarters is at Yenagoa{an hour thirty minutes drive from Portharcourt }.
Yes most of our communities are completely surrounded by water and are inaccessible by road,but not everywhere is covered by water as some people claim.Major cities like Kaima,Ogbia town, Yenagoa,Amassoma are all accessible by road and are flooded with hausas, ibos, and yorubas just like every other major city in our country.
So it really baffles me that even in nysc camps you come across young Nigerians that have never heard of Bayelsa and ask you stupid questions like "is it in Anambra?
" lol!
We are Ijaws and our major language is Izon,but there is also the Epie language,the Izon language which Timaya speaks,the Ogbia language which I speak and which F.Y.I, Our great President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan speaks{ yes he is from Bayelsa State and yes he is from the Ogbia speaking part,} and there is also the Nembe language which is the language of the current Governor. But English is the general language and we love to break the pidgin well well well
Aah Bayelsa! We Love groove!! we no dey carry last for grooving at all at all and we gat the dough! We dun buy no drinks at the bar we pop champagne cos we gat that dough, lemme hear ye say ah ah ah!.But thats the truth man.
Well what more, we are majorly Christians, but we still uphold the traditions of our fathers and we are good to strangers and non indegenes.
So please peoples Bayelsa state has been existing way way long before Timaya and we are not all about militancy and all that negativity.come down to the south for a visit and you'll b glad you did.

10 i have nevers...

hmn...i really am enjoying this my trip to eko.i have never visited the island before so i'm still soaking up all the beauties and intrigues it has to offer.Now i'm truly learning to appreciate all the hullabaloo{hope i got the spelling right} about the city Lagos.oooohh the endless beaches are a must see for everyone and lucky me my vacation home is just right in front of the bar beach!! talk of staring endlessly at the ocean!! with all them lined up vessels beaming their lights and beckoning to you to watch them all night and all them fanatics,and almost crazy people roaming and praying and rolling on the sands over and over again in the day time.Its frightening you know,seeing your fellow men and women and even coppers {yes i saw a copper too} do all that and i wonder what sort of problems life must have dolled out to them to make them go such lengths. na wa oh Life....
Everyday morning what i feel like doing is sit and watch the Atlantic Ocean,and of course my lappy right where it was made to be,on my laps and type away....
My thoughts this morning were on ten things i realized i have never done but with every intent of doing.

1. I have never been on a ship

2. I have never sailed on a yacht

3. I have never been to a beach { i must go to kuramo and tarkwa and lekki and all them beaches i used to hear as a kid}
4. I have never flown for seven hours straight. {Ok so i never jand before Na crime?}

5. I have never plucked a chicken

6. I have never sang in a choir

7. I have never driven a 4wheel drive

8. I have never been on a reality show

9. I have never designed a website

10. I have never seen 2face perform Live but

10+ i have danced with the kokomaster Dbanj live!!

So there you have it 10 things i'm yet to try out,courtsey watching the ocean and its waves and its guests....Enjoy!

My Kodak moment...
wonder what he's thinking bout.

Why do we Blog???

Woh!! chinedu says i need to make money with my blog,like tell people about it so the'll come advertise n all.and i say for crying out loud! i have just one follower!! this blog a'int even known to the world yet! talk more of to make money out of it.
Well i dont know,but these days in Nigeria when Money seems to be the key to all answers evrything one does must have a monetary gain.
So the question is this... Is Our Aim Of Having One's Blog Solely To Make Money? Or is it just a pull every born writer has?? to scribble that is.....Or its simply just keeping up with the jones's. So many many reasons for blogging i should say,but i'll choose the second option,anyday anytime... i blog cos i enjoy doing this, writing that is..
Zhaanna's out!
